Subject: Why Rememberance day is important.,[ [firstname]]

Good Morning Friend,

As I was got up this morning, to appreciate the early morning Sun rising above the Water here in the
North Country, I could see the waters rippling in the wind.

It got me to thinking about what it was like for the many men and soldiers, who made that first landing
in Normandy during the Second World War.   Not knowing what awaited you when you got (if you made it at all)
to those mine trapped beaches.

Can you imagine the fear for many of those young men?

Some of them knowing they may never see their loved ones
again.

For them and all who served, I am truly grateful.

My father was in India during the second world war, and
since he was in the electronics business with his brothers at the time, and had a vast knowledge of electronics
and radio he and joined with the RAF as a radio operator.

Eventually he emigrated to the United Kingdom, where I was born, and then we came to Canada.

Truly we are blessed with a great country here, and we enjoy the freedoms that we do because of the many
who sacrificed and gave their lives before us.

Let's take a moment to remember and to give thanks,

Sincerely,

Ray Khan

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
         In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
         In Flanders fields.
