Sky-Watcher Evostar EDX 120 APO Doublet
120mm of FPL-53 at f/7.5. A limited run, while supplies last.
Sky-Watcher has built a limited edition of its 120mm ED doublet, and the changes are the ones owners of the original asked for: a 2.8" dual-speed focuser in place of the old 2", a camera angle adjuster, and a thread-on dew shield. The glass is an air-spaced doublet with an FPL-53 element, 900mm focal length, f/7.5. That is a planetary and double-star scope on Tuesday and a galaxy-season imaging scope on Saturday.
- 120mm aperture, 900mm focal length, f/7.5 air-spaced ED doublet (FPL-53)
- 2.8" dual-speed 11:1 Crayford-style focuser with camera angle adjuster
- Tube rings, V-style dovetail, thread-on dew shield, 1.25" to 2" adapter
- Foam-lined aluminum case included
- 13.9 lb with accessories: comfortable on an HEQ5-class mount or a Wave 100i

Also New from Sky-Watcher
Three more on the way. More details to follow shortly.
Skymax 200DX Maksutov-Cassegrain. An 8" f/10 Maksutov (2000mm) with an aplanatic design: coma suppressed, field flat, and a 44mm image circle that covers a full-frame sensor. Zero-shift focuser, built-in cooling fan and a vented mirror cell, which matters on a Mak this size in a Canadian fall. This is the first Skymax designed as an imaging instrument as much as a planetary one.
Skymax 200DX 0.7x Reducer. The matching two-element reducer/flattener takes the 200DX to f/7 (about 1400mm) with a 43mm corrected circle, M48 thread and the standard 55mm back focus.
SynLink Universal Astroimaging Controller. Sky-Watcher's answer to the box-on-the-telescope question. One 9 oz unit handles USB (four 3.0, two 2.0, one USB-C), four switched 12V outputs, two dew heater channels, dual-band Wi-Fi and 64GB of storage. The app runs polar alignment, plate-solved GoTo, autofocus, multi-star guiding and sequencing from a phone, tablet, Mac or PC. It works with cameras, focusers, filter wheels and mounts from multiple manufacturers, not just Sky-Watcher's.
More details on all three will follow shortly. In the meantime, call 416 783 4140 or email info@khanscope.com if you would like your name on the list.
Sky-Watcher Wave 100i and 150i Packages
Mount head, carbon fibre tripod and extension tube in one box, for less than the parts.
Sky-Watcher has lowered pricing on the Wave strainwave packages. Each one bundles the mount head with the Wave carbon fibre tripod and the 180mm extension tube. No counterweights needed for most setups, EQ or alt-az mode, and a mount head you can carry in one hand.
Wave 150i Package → Wave 100i Package →
Wave 100i: 10 kg payload without counterweight, 15 kg with. Wave 150i: 15 kg without, 25 kg with. Counterweight kit sold separately. Both packages are in stock.
Sky-Watcher Emerald 82° Eyepieces
Seven elements, 82 degrees, and a price that leaves room for a second one.
Sky-Watcher's Emerald series is its first serious ultra-wide eyepiece line: seven-element designs with an 82° apparent field, threaded for filters, each in its own case. For those of us who do still put an eye to the glass, they are a sensible way into wide-field observing.
