Today was a Good Day.

This morning I rose early, and took the 40 stairs down three
levels to my home office.

Past our cat snoozing on the guest room bed.

Past a superb, colorful contemporary painting on the hallway
wall that should be worth milllions by now. Even though I spent,
ahem, less than a grand for it at our city's annual "Affordable
Art" show.

I believe in this artist, and am waiting for him to get

Past my garage door where my two exotic sports cars sat gleaming
in the early morning light. I always leave this door open so I can
look at them every time I pass.

I flipped on my five screens, and scanned them for my income

Hundreds of dollars were sitting there in my bank account,
smiling at me.

So today started out to be an Good Day...

But I have Great Days mostly, when this amount is in the
multiple thousands.
