One thing I didn’t really dig into yesterday…

ShortStoryEngine could be even more useful before your book is published.

Because the usual way people approach this is:

Write book -> Publish book -> Then start wondering where the readers are supposed to come from.

Which is doing things the hard way!

you can start building interest while the book is still being written, so you have a fanbase ready when you publish...

So by the time the main book is ready, you’ve already got:

- reader feedback on what they respond to

- more reasons for people to follow you

- bonus material you can use around the launch

- a warmer audience when you finally say, “The book’s out”

That makes the whole publishing process feel rather less backwards.

Instead of finishing the product first and then desperately trying to manufacture attention, you’re building the attention (and your fanbase) right from the get go!

And the nice thing is, none of this requires the main book to be finished.

If you’ve already got the concept, characters or story world, you’ve got material to work with.

That’s the bit I think a lot of authors will find genuinely useful.

You’re not just creating short stories for the sake of creating short stories.

You’re giving yourself a head start.
