JV Farms
 Update  8-12-15
Keeping Cool on the Farm
It's not easy keeping cool during the Dog Days of Summer - for us or our critters! The hogs...and dogs...get relief in a good, old-fashioned mud hole!

It's a little harder for us to beat the heat, but we made progress this week by converting a stock tank into the best adult-sized kiddie pool ever! Full of fresh, cold, well water to cool us off now, we'll convert it to a wood-fired hot tub this winter. How's that for on-the-farm innovation!!
Monthly Meat Share
There are still a few weeks to sign up for our Monthly Meat Share!  Enrollment will be during  the whole month of August, with the first pickup at the Milk Barn in September. Delivery options are available.

The Monthly Meat Share will run from September to February and the next available signup will start in March.

Whole share is $100 per month with 16 pounds of pork, chicken and beef and half is $50 per month for 8 pounds of pork, chicken and beef. *Each month will be different!* Maybe we should call this the Meat of the Month Club!!

Example of a full share:
2 whole chickens, bacon, breakfast sausage, link sausage, chops, ground beef and fajita/stew meat

All members will receive 10% off additional orders of other JV Farms goodness when available.... eggs, milk, pork, chicken, veggies, berries and JV Farms events.
Dinner at the MilkBarn
Speaking of events...our next dinner is September 13

Chef Porter is going to turn it on with our products and other local yummies with a 5-course dinner here at the MilkBarn.

$65 per person limited to 30 guests. Make your reservations now!
On the Board this Week....

Pasture Chicken: whole, half, boneless split breasts, leg quarters, stock parts feet and livers.

Pasture Pork: Thick Chops, Breakfast sausage, Chorizo sausage, Italian sausage, Andouille sausage and Superior Bratwurst.
We will not be at the Green Market of Hot Springs Village in Grove Park Thursday. We are staying home mowing, building chicken tractors, working in the greenhouse and all those other chores it's been too hot to do this week!  But you can find us Saturday at the Historic Downtown Hot Springs Farmers Market from 7 to 12.
As always you can email, text or call in your order to insure availability.
