Introducing the Customer Service Professional Certification Program

Printing Industries of America has launched a new Customer Service Professional Certification (CSP) program to train and validate the expertise of customer service representatives in a production print environment. The CSP Certification program will provide vital skills in the areas of professionalism, communication, management of internal and external customers, and job production situations to deliver an outstanding customer service experience.

"Customer service representatives (CSRs) play a vital role in print companies," said Joe Marin, vice president of Education and Training at Printing Industries of America. "Great customer service can turn first-time customers into repeat customers and repeat customers into loyal customers. Having a Certified team shows that your company holds its staff to the highest professional standards and will put the needs of its customers first."

The cost for the Customer Service Professional Certification (CSP) program is $295 for members and $495 for non-members. Purchasing the Online Course Bundle provides one year of access to the Customer Service Professional eLearning courses and one attempt to pass the certification exam. The course bundle includes:

Cutting-Edge Technologies Sought for 2018 InterTech™ Technology Awards

PIA is currently seeking cutting-edge print and graphic arts technologies for the 2018 InterTech™ Technology Awards program. The annual competition hosted by PIA honors truly innovative technologies set to shape the future of print and graphic communications.

Dr. Mark Bohan Named 2018 TAGA Michael H. Bruno Award Recipient

Dr. Mark Bohan, Director of Prinect & CtP of Heidelberg USA, has been named the 2018 TAGA Michael H. Bruno Award recipient by Printing Industries of America. The award is given by the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) to print professionals with distinguished careers in appreciation of their contributions to the advancement of the graphic arts.

Dr. Bohan is an acknowledged expert and evangelist on workflows and new technologies impacting the print industry. He is currently the business driver for Prinect, a fully featured Business Intelligence Platform designed specifically for printing. Its workflow architecture can be the backbone of all production and operational management—a transformative tool for integration and consistently profitable print manufacturing.

For his achievements in the graphic arts, Dr. Bohan was recognized as an "alien of extraordinary ability" and obtained his Green Card in July 2010—those recognized in this category make up a small percentage who has risen to the very top of their field of endeavor.

Schaeffer Award Deadline Approaching

Printing Industries of America is seeking eligible candidates for the 2017 Schaeffer Environmental Award. Established in 1990, this award is named for environmental pioneer and researcher Dr. William D. Schaeffer (1922-2003). Dr. Schaeffer was known and widely respected for providing environmentally sound activities for the graphic communications industries and a rational perspective for those who develop environmental regulations for the industry.
