Dear Friends, As you walk the journey of the Christian life, one of the things that God can use to inspire your faith is the testimonies of believers that have gone before and lived wholeheartedly for Christ. William Borden is one such individual.
In William Borden’s short, purposeful life we see Christ’s call to lay up treasures in heaven lived out. Though wealthy, admired, and full of opportunity, Borden chose to live in surrender and consecration to Christ. He loved those who were overlooked, poured himself into gospel work, and gave generously for missions. Setting his heart on reaching the unreached, he left the comfort of his home country for Egypt. In Egypt he planned to learn Arabic to prepare to bring the Gospel to Muslims in China. Though he died at the age of 25, his legacy still preaches that a life yielded to Christ is never wasted.
Listen to a recent podcast episode where Gabriel Cleator talks about how William Boden lived his life in light of eternity and laid up his treasure in Heaven. Through this testimony may you be inspired on the journey of your Christian life to set your affections on things above and invest in that which will count for forever. |
