Subject: Trainer Pointers For x3 Cheltenham Handicaps

Hello Friend

Before I get onto some stats for Cheltenham (if it goes ahead) just a quick word on Really Super who won for my fellow owners and I on Monday, at 16s - her performance somewhat surprised us all, including a few of our syndicate who like a bet but didn't have a penny on. I gave a preview to my members where I basically sat on the fence and didn't really know what to expect.

A combination of the cheek-pieces, the flatter track (Hereford has a few cambers which she didn't seem to enjoy) and possibly being fully over the antibiotics she was on post Worcester (PU due to a minor lung infection) - I suspect they left her a bit flat. Anyway, we didn't really know what to expect - at the first fence i thought 'oh no' as she slowed up/darted to her left - Jack then got stuck into her, told her who was boss, and away she flew. They couldn't live with her pace or accurate jumping, it was a joy to behold. She was entitled to do that on her hurdles form.

I doubt she will be 16s NTO, but the betting/price is only ever a cherry on top of the cake. We will run her in a mares Listed race at some point (and that race qualified her for a nice race at Haydock in April) to really test her, but as yet there's nothing pencilled in - we will keep running her until she tells us she needs a break. Maybe another handicap next. There's great prize money in these weak-ish mares races, that one worth nearly 10k to us.

Cheltenham's November Meeting

Sadly there's a strong chance this meeting doesn't survive - well tomorrow looks in doubt, maybe Sat/Sunday will be fine if the rain relents and they don't race on it tomorrow. They had 20mm of rain last night and still it pours.

In today's free post i've pulled out some trainer stats from my Members' 'Trends Thursday' post, where I look ahead to the weekend's handicaps and post a few stats/trends/ trainer pointers.

At the link below you can find the trainer records for three big handicaps run over the weekend, including the BetVictor Gold Cup and The Greatwood Handicap Hurdle.

All the best
Josh

p.s tomorrow I have a great freebie for you from my friend Kieran Ward, looking at a few trainers who've done well historically in November, December and January. So, keep an eye out for that.
