Subject: Sandy Thomson: Profitable Trainer Angles

Hello Friend

Today there's some trainer pointers for Sandy Thomson, taken from a recent 'Micro Monday' posts in my members' club. If you like your trainer stats/angles/pointers they may be worth keeping an eye on, for the rest of the season and into next...

Sandy Thomson

Last Monday I took an in-depth look at his yard/stats, and he's fired in a few winners since. In fact from the 6th Jan to today he's 5/16, 11p (inc wins), so certainly a yard in form. Peaking at this time of year also appears to be a habit. Whilst there are only 10 days left of Jan, the following stat may be worth tracking into next season...
  • Handicap Chase/Handicap Novice Chase
  • October/ November/ December / January
  • Any odds
95 bets / 26 wins / 47p / 27% sr / +62 SP / +85 BFSP / AE 1.37

Pace Analysis
Using the excellent Geegeez Gold and their Query tool, this analysis looks at the running style of Sandy Thomson’s Chasers over the last 5 years, as of 13th Jan 2020.

Sandy would appear to understand the importance of racing chasers ‘up in the van’ when you expect them to run their race/go close.

His handicap chasers that have raced prominently or led >>>

119 bets / 23 wins / 50p / 19% sr / +56 SP

Compare that to those who race mid division or are held up >>>

71 bets / 8 wins / 20p / 11% sr / -40 SP

Another demonstration, if it’s needed, of the benefits of racing a chaser ‘up there’ if they have the ability / temperament to do so.

Hopefully that information may point you to a few winners moving forward,

Happy Punting,
Josh
