Subject: 🟢🏇New Horse for Sale & Thyestes Notes

Good Morning, Friend

To Ireland...

Predictably I cursed my tips when last emailing, all three woeful, alas!

Today we head to Gowran and some guest content. One of my members, Cliff, who's also active in my free RTP Telegram Chat group (HERE >>>), produces superb content, race previews, notes, trends, his own tips...

YOU CAN READY HIS GOWRAN MUSINGS HERE >>>

Hopefully you enjoy the read! :)

With my Racing to Profit Syndicate hat on, we are also assessing interest in a new jumps horse with Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero, where we have two in training at present. If such things interest you, do keep reading...

A New Opportunity...

Horse: Broomhilda (a powerful figure from Norse legend no less!), 3YO Filly, Montmartre (Montjeu) x Paille (Fuisse) (French Premiums, as an aside) (pictured above)

Trainer: Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero (Shropshire)

Breeding: Her sire fires out winners, 57% winners to runners which is up there with the best. His horses include Djelo, Supreme winner Labaik, super mare Elimay and many others. Her dam was unraced (no bad thing), but out of a x3 winning mare and £500k (including a win at age 4), dam of 5 offspring, 3 of whom won races (and our unraced dam) one of which was Petit Mouchoir (winner at 4) winner of Grade 1s, including The Ryanair Hurdle and Irish Champion Hurdle, 2nds in Morgiana, Arkle Novices Chase, and many others. It's a decent page, and useful for any future enhanced value etc.

Plan: Juvenile National Hunt Hurdles in Autumn (escape a penalty if winning one), into Juvenile programme 2027, 4YO only (a decent programme), weight for age handicaps also. Two full seasons to end 2027/28, and reassess, but with an 'investment' mindset also, if ever a large private offer, or we wish to enter a sale with a reserve. Winning jumps fillies, with her page, can be valuable, the French Premiums obviously offer up raiding options, but more likely opens up the sales market.

Background -

Agent Dan Astbury picked this girl up as an unbroken 2YO. He's GGs main agent but has many contacts and buys for many people, and is developing into a very good judge. He owned 50% of our Buzz Iceclear in his pointing days and filled me in a bit on him after my other contacts had flagged him. Dan didn't want to sell (very wise!) but the trainer (50%) had to financially, which we were delighted with, another bargain! More recently, Dan picked up x2 irish winner Aisling Oscar, paying £3600 or so privately, rated 42 having won off 51. She's raced x6 for him on the the AW with Adrian Keatley, winning her last 5, inc December's ARC AW bonus prize of £20k, a chunk of PM and on course for a slice of the 'horse of the year' prize. Nice work. I trust his eyes, his judgement and long term, we won't go far wrong with Dan helping us in the years ahead, he has an eye for value. I spoke to him on the phone yesterday as he was touring Irish point to point yards, a grafter. He's always on the lookout for opportunities for us and she's now at the stage where Dan was happy to give us first refusal.

This filly was broken in post sale during July/August and has been pre training since, including now at Oliver and Josh's. She will do a month's more work, a month in a barn, turned out for 3 months and back on 1st July, to prepare for the autumn. You can see a recent snap of her below. She will develop plenty more for another summer or two at grass but is already strong, athletic, filly.

You can watch a short video from Dan (under 2 minutes!), including footage of the filly jumping, here: https://youtube.com/shorts/gGgdT6nBVlI?feature=share

She is very forward, has a very good mind, jumps very well and knows where her feet are. She is exciting, the classic 'could be anything' type in time.

We'd expect to get cracking early on next jumps season, with a superb programme for these juvenile hurdlers into their 4YO year, including the odd series you can qualify for, one of which has a decent pot at Musselburgh in March 2027. Her page is littered with horses who won as 4YOs and were ready early, she looks no different.

As I touched on above, the plan as always is to have some trackside fun with a horse we can get excited about, and dream for a couple of seasons as she matures. However, there is an 'investment' element also, if she did take off, she would increase substantially in value given her page, and it could be we get an offer we cannot refuse, or decide to enter her into a sale with a reserve and see how we go. Were this not to come to pass, assuming she shows some ability/gets competitive, we will reassess at the end of her second full jumps season, around May 2028. There's no reason she shouldn't keep developing, growing and strengthening.

COSTS

We have a free hit with her and to explore if we can tempt enough interest, and if not, no damage done. We have to try! We're excited by her, a different sort and profile we've ever floated, so we shall see if she excites you as much as us...

ALL IN COST TO JULY 1st: £25 000

Taking account of what Dan paid for her, sales costs, his costs to date since July where she's been in work to end Jan, all our costs for next 5 months through to July 1st, she works out at a 100% all-in cost to July 1st of £25k. From 1st July, Fees will kick in, which like most yards, have increased in recent weeks due to increases in bedding, feed, fuel and National Insurance. Our management fee/model remains unchanged.

  • 1% = £250 to 1st July, £34.99 per month thereafter

  • 2% = £500 to 1st July, £69.98 per month

  • 2.5% = £625 to 1st July, £87.99 per month

  • 5% = £1250 to 1st July, £175.98 per month

  • 7.5% = £1875 to 1st July, £243.97 per month (inc ongoing discount)

  • 10% = £2500 to 1st July, £311.96 per month (inc ongoing discount)

Larger shares/named partners etc can be discussed.

As per above, a one-off to July 1st and you don't need to think about further costs until then! As always we can be flexible to some degree, but would need the initial payment by the end of Feb, early March at the latest.

If this opportunity excites you, please indicate your firm interest using the form below, and we'll be in touch in due course. We will assess where we are in 1-2 weeks, and with any luck we can make her a goer.

As always, thanks for reading,

And good luck with any bets at Gowran,

All the best,

Josh
