Hello Friend

Cheltenham Festival Review: Day 1 (with a difference?)

Firstly, I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well in these challenging times. This situation has given me the opportunity to take some time off and to reflect on my future more generally, and that of the blog/business. There's much I need to change and refresh moving forwards, but that's for another day.

For now, what follows is my review of Day 1 of the Festival - the purpose of these review posts is to highlight useful information for the future - well that's the intention.

It’s a mix of ‘horses to follow’ (some obvious- others less so, including collateral form-lines), ‘hot form’, stats and micro angles – including a look at Festival horses who won LTO at Cheltenham and Nicky Henderson – both his record at Newbury in Novice/Maiden hurdle races and his record with fillies & mares.

You can read it on the blog HERE>>>

(feel free to post any comments, or horses that went into your notebook, for example)

You can also find my notes in a document HERE>>>

Hopefully there's something in there of interest and to take away moving forwards, for whenever jumps racing returns.

I'll be in touch again next week. I've been spending some time re-reading Nick Mordin's book 'Winning Without Thinking' which is the sort of racing book you read that makes you ponder whether you've been doing it all wrong. I plan to pull together some notes from this book as well as my thoughts moving forwards.

All the best, and stay safe,

Josh
