This morning I buried my head in HorseRaceBase looking for trainer angles for this year's July Festival, which starts on Thursday from, yep you guessed it, Newmarket's July Course.

There's six trainers who've clearly targeted this meeting in the last eight years and I've managed to find simple, yet profitable angles (historically at least) for five of them... Charlie Appleby, Aidan O'Brien, Richard Hannon, Mark Johnston and Saeed Bin Suroor. 

Between them, in the last eight years with the micro angles i've unearthed, they're responsible for...  155 runners / 54 winners / +264 points Betfair SP

That's an average of +33 points per Festival. It may be asking too much for such stats to be repeated but this is generally a game built on hopes and dreams.
