It was a fun weekend for the blog. My post on the Cesarewitch highlighted 7 horses which the stats/trends suggested were worth a second glance. One of these was the winner. While this was no proper race preview (and it was hard to be confident on anything) I indicated I would have a 'nibble' on Grumeti on the exchanges. He returned at 79/1 BFSP which was a decent return for my £5 'fun bet'. I think my main fancy, Noble Silk, could still be running! (one day I will get my staking right on these big priced winners)

I hope a few of you TrainerTrackProfile users managed to find a winner or two at Hexham. There were four winners on the card at 6/1, 4/1, 9/1 and 7/1 where the trainer stats were strong as indicated in the report and where a case could be made for each horse.  Smith (handicap chase debutants), Ellison (hncp hurdles) and Russel/Ewart (hncp chases) improved their decent records at the track.
