I am sending this before today's two selections run so nothing to report just yet. Onto tomorrow...

3.50 Beverley Maven 

Ideal Cond. 1m2f or 1m2.5f; Class 3 <£10k; Good, Good to Firm; 1-15 runners
Form in Cond. 1,3,3,1,2,1,11,1,2,1,4,3 2 (0/30, 7 places outside this) 

Positives. Has her ideal conditions again, a drop back to 10f which is her best trip, despite winning form over 10.5f. Has a 7lb claimer on top this time who has won on her before. All other race conditions are fine. 

Negatives. None 

My Verdict. 1 point win. Market yet to form but looks to be around the 3/1 mark.


5.20 Catterick. Solar Spirit 

Ideal Cond. Catterick; 6f or 7f; Class 4<£6; 1-30 days; OR81 or less
Form in Cond. 2,2,1,4,8,1,3,1,9,1,1 (0/71, 20 places outside this) 

Positives. Has his ideal conditions, is well handicapped and drops into a Class 5 (3/8, 6 places) which could well be his level these days. All race conditions fine.

 
Negatives. None from a profile perspective. He is a 10yo now but was beaten under a length last time in a better race and was winning last season.

 
My Verdict. 1 point win. Market yet to form but I suspect he will be under 7/1. 

NOTE: Windforpower, from the same stable and also a profile horse, also runs in this race. He is a Musselburgh and Newcastle specialist (0/35, 9 places outside of his conditions) and is 0/13, 6 places at Catterick. Also 0/3, 0 places over 6f, 1/20 in C5. Hopefully it is Solar Spirits day and not his!
