Rather frustratingly English Summer ran like a horse that had drifted to 10/1 and it would appear that the market is definitely a strong guide for that horse.

Form in Cond. 1,1,3,8,3,1,5,1 (1/27, 8 places outside)

Positives. He hasn't run in these conditions since 2013 but he appears best over 1m (hasn't run over this distance this season) 4/12, 8 places over that distance - 1/20 over further. Ground is fine, as is handicap mark. He is 0/7 at the course but has placed 3 times. 1/15, 6 places in C2, and while clearly finding it easier at a lower level he can compete here.

Negatives. Well the size and competitiveness of this race wont have escaped you. He is only 0/8, 1 place with 16+ runners, and all wins have been when 8/1 or below. 0/12, 3 places 17/2-20/1.

My Verdict. 1/2 point EW 25/1 (BV - 20/1 general, 33s in places, use odds checker) The 4 places are making me want to go EW again and he is general consistent in these conditions. This is the first time we are backing this horse and there is a lot in his favour. It will be interesting if he gets backed but a strongly run 8f seems to be his thing. I appear to keep backing these bigger priced horses but there just isn't enough there for me to ignore him today and he has been in form.
