Day 1 Notes...

What follows are some observations just based on the stats in the report. NO assessment of the horse's form chance or suitability for conditions etc. This is not an exhaustive list and different users may spot different angles etc. And I have yet to check the markets.

2.30 - Cougar Mountain for O'Brien (all Listed+ 20/1<) Ran at Leopardstown LTO  and was in the Top 2 - both positives for his type of runners here

Toormore - All of Hannon's sent off 8/1 or shorter are worth a second glance. This one wasn't Top 2 LTO which has been a negative in recent seasons - albeit as always sample sizes are not massive

3.05 - Again the Hannon 8/1< point is relevant to his runners in this race, marking up those top 2 LTO.
Silverton goes for Wesley Ward who has done well here in the past, and even more so with those priced 4/1 or shorter come the off.

3.40 -. Sole Power runs again for Lynam. Wesley Ward has a runner.

4.20 - The Gurkha (Listed + 20/1<) goes for AO'B and was Top 2 LTO - solid stats all round with those types here.

5.00 - Representatives from Weld and Henderson should be noted - decent records from few runners in the last 5 seasons. Mill Spings goes for Gosden who is 3/7,4 places in 4yo+ handicaps in the period. Then the two Mullins horses - he is 2/2 when Ryan Moore is up making Pique Sous of some interest. Currently 0/4, 0 places those sent off over 8/1

Looking at the general stats for 4yo+ handicaps - those drawn 1-6 are 0/55- that could just be an anomaly but it did stand out. Both Weld's runner and Gosden's are drawn 1-6. (5+6) So, all of that, stats wise and if placing some emphasis on the draw, would maybe steer you towards Pique Sous and No Heretic

Enjoy Day 1 - hopefully some of those can hit the board and get the systems off to a good start. The weather looks set fair I think- good to soft.
