Subject: 🏇 Will Our Horse Win Today? Here's Hoping...

Hello, Friend

Today our RTP Syndicate 2YO Via Electriano looks to build on her debut promise when running in the 5.35pm Brighton. I'll be heading there for the first time and we're looking forward to it. Provided she goes in the stalls we're hopeful of a big run, for all her first time on turf but that shouldn't be a problem. The nerves are building.

We wouldn't mind another winner, having knocked on the door plenty in recent months with some agonising finishes. 25% of our Syndicate runners have been Top 2, 40% Top 3, 57% Top 5. Decent, but it's time another one got their nose in front.

Down below you can find the notes I sent to her owners.

Before that... hands up, I got it wrong...

RTP Summer Syndicate - Endlesspossibility

I tend to call a spade a spade and in truth our initial Summer Syndicate offer was not very well received at all! Darn.

We've launched x6 Syndicates to date and each one has usually filled up within a week or two, one sold out in 24 minutes and another in 24 hours. Sadly not this time!

We're not really sure why but evidently I've got something wrong with the pitch, the price point or how I was describing our plans. Any feedback is welcome!

As such, we've changed plans slightly, which you can read below, and this offer is also a bit cheaper, working out at just £2.99p per day... it's a lot of fun for less than a Costa coffee...

We've got a few days to see if we can still make it work, so if below tempts you in, please do email me ASAP :)

We're very excited about having a horse with Dr Richard Newland and with any luck our new approach may be more appealing...

In Summary:-

  • It will now be just the one horse, Endlesspossibility, 5YO, who's unexposed, exciting and looks likely to get a very lenient handicap mark to be exploited when stepped up in distance over hurdles and running on quicker ground. He's working really well at the moment, is progressing mentally day by day and I've no doubt Dr Newland will be winning plenty with him in time. Given his Point form, his breeding (esp the dam side) and his size, there's every chance he'll progress into a solid chaser also.

  • 6 month lease?... some feedback suggested this idea may have put plenty off, and I may have pitched it incorrectly. To use one of your phrases, it's more a 'try before you buy' as with this horse we will have the option of continuing beyond the 6 months if we choose and may well have the chance to purchase him off Dr Newland outright. It's a great low risk way to get involved, the best of both worlds really, as if he does what we expect we know we've a horse to follow, get attached to and go forward with in the years ahead.

  • Cost - the initial commitment is for just 6 months, and you'll have first refusal on whether to continue for longer. 2.5% works out at just £2.99p per day. Or... £89.99 per month, a total for the six months of just £539.94p.

  • You'll have first refusal as to whether to continue beyond the 6 months, but no obligation to do so. As always, there'll be nothing further to pay during the period and we'll rebate any unspent fees against forecast at the end. You'll also be entitled to your share % of prize money.

There's much fun to be had with our Grand National Winning trainer. Dr Newland's facilities are incredible and I was mightily impressed with the whole operation when visiting a couple of weeks ago.

There's also an open invite to visit his yard whenever you please and of course we'll be organising a yard visit asap.

We're determined to have our next jumps horse with Dr Newland and we hope it can be this lad, a half brother to Topham winner LiveLoveLaugh who could seriously progress with time and racing.

He may not end up as good as him of course, but he's got plenty of wins in him and the Good Dr is very adept at racking up a sequence with his handicappers, at all levels. Fingers crossed.

Do email me if you'd like to get involved or discuss further. We'd love to welcome you to our RTP Syndicate family of racing enthusiasts, now around 80 strong across our x6 Syndicates to date.

We can't wait to share a drink with you this summer, maybe at Worcester, or Stratford, Southwell, Market Rasen etc, maybe even Cartmel.

Race Preview

5.35pm Brighton - below you can find the notes I sent to her owners last night, as always my own subjective take on our horse and the opposition. Owners get a race preview before every run, as well as live track-side updates if they can't make the races...

Via Electriano -

The market would suggest this race concerns four horses, and at current odds we lead the pack. Amy and Lemos report Via to have taken a step forward from Kempton in her homework and fitness, which bodes well.

That race is working out well with a subsequent comfortable winner in behind and another one finishing a solid 3rd in a decent race at Newmarket. Our biggest danger could well be the stalls - hopefully she behaves herself and goes in without any drama. They continue to do loads of work with her at home, where she behaves impeccably, and Stefano knows her very well. If she can break as she did last time, she may well be leading these after 1f and with any luck can stay there. She sets a decent standard of those who've raced and I'd like to think she's got them beaten, if progressing as expected and handling conditions.

In saying that, Ed Dunlop's ran well on debut considering she missed the start at Bath but stayed on, outpaced late. It could be she needs further in time (her breeding would suggest that also) but if breaking better could be in the shake up. In the last two year's Ed's only 3/77 with his horses having 2nd career start, so with any luck she doesn't actually progress for the experience, we shall see.

I spoke to one of the Syndicate owners of Mariamne and they like her and are hopeful of a big run, if repeating her homework on-course, which apparently has been decent. Of course they expect her to come on for the experience but the yard are in fine form and can ready them 1st time out, for all not prolific. There's speed in her breeding. She could go well.

The biggest danger could be Bobsleigh for Eve Johnson Houghton, who's in fine form and does very well with her 1st time out 2YOs - 6/23,8p +29 SP in the last year alone. She's 5/15, 6p at Brighton with her 2YOs in non-handicaps in the last 5 years. He is a first foal so could be on the small side and his breeding is mixed, plenty of 7f+ stamina on the dam side, so with any luck he may find this all happening a bit too quickly. But, the yard form/stats suggest one to take note of and money did come for him earlier, but as always, money nearer the race may reveal all. He does have to give us 5lb also, which may not be easy against a race-fit streetwise filly.

The market may guide on Forever A Diamond, big price at the moment. Muir not prolific with 1st time out 2YOs but the odd one goes in, the breeding suggests she may want further than 5f in time also. The other two who have raced need to take a big step forward for all that isn't impossible. Money has come for No Sinner but i'd have thought running for a nursery mark. At least Go Your Own Way runs on completely different ground here, which 'could' help.

Pace/race set up... well, if Via breaks well, or even if she doesn't, I suspect Stefano will find himself near the front or leading. Hopefully he can dictate, grab the rail, get a breather in coming down the hill, kick, get a gap to the rest before the final climb to the line, and that will be that! Easy :) If she evidently runs her race and something does beat her, it would be solid form given her previous effort. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan.

Enjoy the race from wherever you may be watching it.

Do cheer her on for us.
