Subject: 🏇 Saturday's Musings - Wet Wet Wet?

Good Morning, Friend

Bangor was an enjoyable watch, never much doubt there with Brief Times making all and jumping like a stag. He was chased home by the main 'big price' danger who has just bumped into one there and if maintaining that form, has another 3 miler in him this summer. Two from Two for my 2m6f+ chase eyes this week, what used to be my 'bread and butter'...

Onto today... in truth I haven't looked in much depth and I'm off to a 'summer' wedding soon enough, but some horses below to ponder.

Who knows what the weather will do at various courses and what the ground will be, especially Goodwood. It could be on the softer side of good, proper soft, or a heavy ground bog if some forecast rain lingers. So, maybe a day for caution.

However...

3.35 Goodwood - The Stewards Cup

A trends profile of... age 3-7, 1st or 2nd at least once on last three starts, 0-1 runs at the course previously and 2-5 runs this season... would have found 12 of the last 15 winners (12/123 runners, 24 places, +100 BFSP). That includes every winner since 2013 and IF upholding would point to...

Orazio, Tanmawwy, Apollo One, Sterling Knight, Kings Lynn, Significantly and Juan Les Pins

I haven't had time to go through those in any detail, so I will leave that to you!

I have noted that if it does go soft+, only three of those having 'winning' form on soft through to heavy... the fav Orazio, who could take some stopping... and...

Sterling Knight and Significantly, both at around 22s or so.

Finding Steward's Cup winners isn't that easy of course but as i'm out of time, I'll throw some muggy beer money at those for interest. If Orazio is 4s+, maybe him also. The biggies are drawn higher, the fav low. I don't what the right side will be. If this ground is no worse than GS, maybe one of the others will run well. Or this trends profile will bomb this year! Who knows.

Anyway. I've spent 2 minutes looking at the horses in this race, so I should get what I deserve, but all good fun! If you've the time, do go through them in a bit more depth! I spent 45 minutes or so on yesterday's Bangor chase and obv had a fair bit more on him than I plan to on this race! Sofa change at the ready.
