Subject: 🏇🟢 Eye-Catchers + Syndicate Runners Today

Good Morning, Friend,

A busy day ahead with two of our Syndicate horses running, which I'll touch on below. I'm off to Uttoxeter shortly and there are a few I like, for all most of their prices are disappearing.

First up... Eye-Catchers...

A few horses caught my eye last week, (and no doubt many others also!)... Gaassee, Nolton Cross, Dutch Decoy, Saint George, Lake Forest, Local Dynasty, Good Earth, Isle of Lismore, Jimi Hendrix, Farhh To Shy...

I've recorded a 'feature length' video where I flick through all the above, talk over the race replays and what I'm looking for/thinking. With any luck it's informative/useful...

Today's runners...

We have a couple of RTP Syndicate runners today... the latter is Golden Mayflower who runs in the first at Yarmouth, 5.35pm.

Sadly this could well be her last race as we think she's started to struggle with her breathing again, or is certainly mentally thinking about it. We had two very good runs from her first up for us, and on another day she could have won both of them, but the wheels have come off a bit since, which is a bit gutting but that's the game. We're dropping her down in trip and plan to ride her more aggressively, in the hope that if she's given her head she may consent to get into a breathing ryhthm, and not try to race on one breath. If she does breathe to her best, and with the TT back on, she could mix it, for all my head says she may travel well until 3f out or so before her legs go wobbly and her jockey looks after her. One more roll of the dice, we shall see. Anything could happen, but that's why she's 33s-40s.

20 minutes before her is Sir Canford, who runs for our 6 month 'Summer Syndicate' in the 5.15 Uttoxeter.

He's had two runs for Dr Newland, and us, shaping with promise both times. He badly needed his return after 600+ days off but nearly swept into the lead off the bend, before having a horrid time at flight one here last start - distracted by a horse veering across him, Sam going from 4th to nearly last after jump one, which wasn't ideal. Both times over 2m he's been flat out in the final 4f or so and he's run as if he needs at least 2m4f, which he gets today.

He shouldn't mind the cut in the ground on old form, although still an unknown over jumps to some degree, and obviously needs to prove his stamina under a big weight. However, we think this mark is workable and hopefully this distance unlocks more. Hopefully he just keeps galloping and he's a proven winner (although not over hurdles) unlike anything else in here, so far.

He could run a massive race and be bang there, which if he handles the ground/and stays, he should be. He ran 17 days ago and has been working well, hopefully a long enough gap but his demeanor at home suggests he's fine. He's a bit weak in the market this morning, I've no idea why, and 6s-7s is looking a bit generous to me, with those caveats above, and I am blinkered of course! :) Fingers crossed.

We've got 20 owners and friends in attendance across the two tracks, all with full O&T access including food, and provided they both come home safe, it will be a fun afternoon/evening.

Uttoxeter fancies...

As I'm off to the races I have had a flick through... there's nothing at a 'bigger' price I like, bar our Sir Canford, but then smaller fields...

2.40 - Ten Past Midnight - 5/2 (he was 4s, so the price has gone) - I wondered if this was a plan and he may try and make all, very well handicapped on last season's efforts, including here, and even more so with Harry As 10lb. His return was laboured, but maybe he badly needed it, the market speaking positively. Rock On Tommy may run him down, he may have wanted softer ground/Ten Past could get away on the front, we shall see.

3.40 - Judge Earl - 10/3 - just about ok although he was 5s. He could just be regressive now and out of form, but he's well handciapped again on last season's best, which including a decent 2nd behind Kinondu Kwetu here in a C3, over 2m6f. IF he got back to that level of form, this lot wouldn't get near him I don't think. This trip 'could' be on the short side but Sean may try and counter that by being ultra-aggressive, if the horse's legs are quick enough. An interesting little contest, No Getaway arrives in form, and Pawpaw no forlorn hope. Can the old boy bounce back, that's the question. Peter Bowen is in form form.

4.10 - Mr Yeats - 11/4 - this looks between the top two and Mr Yeats faces a more progressive / unexposed one. I'm not sure what the fav has been beating. Mr Yeats best efforts, including last start, set a fair standard and I thought if he repeated his best he'd give the fav a fair bit to think about, for all he's not got much in hand. Trainer/jockey in decent form, as is the horse.

4.40 - Junior Master - 9/4 - not overpriced as such, probably the right price, but I thought that may look ok. He's won his last 3 chases and it's hard to know where improvement will end, maybe today! However sets a fair standard and his form looks solid. If he runs to his best, the others do need to improve on their efforts I think. All of the principles here can throw in a dodgy jump mind, maybe that will be his undoing. He will try and make all. Deadly Missile has been the one for money so far, 13/2>7/2, we'll see if that's well placed.

5.15 - Sir Canford 6/1 - as I said, if he stays and the ground is fine, and he runs to his best, we're hopeful of a very very big run here - for all it is a C5 novice handicap of course!

As always, do with that lot as you please.
