With any luck those of you who read yesterday's blog post had a go at my 'Venetia Williams' double for fun money, which paid 11/2 or so. Her first one sluiced up and then it was over to Cloudy Glen, who rolled back the years, as he was entitled to do against Vets, given his record fresh. I had an agonising neck 2nd today, the 'stats starting points' flagging a few winners, including at 9/1, 6/1 and 9/2.

On we march to the weekend. I'm heading up to Liverpool tomorrow for our annual owners trip to Aintree/Becher Chase day, with 50 in a restaurant and then out into Liverpool. Wish me luck! I plan to spend my long train journey trying to find a few winners, and my next job today is my 'big race trends' post.

I've decided against writing a load of bull-sh*t which you've all heard many times before! And its not really my style. I don't plan on promising untold riches, or that we're all assured to be winners long term. We're not. Apparently only 0.01% of recreational punters win long term, a tough game!

With any luck over time we can win a bit of extra money on the side, to spend on a nice holiday, a meal out, or an extra treat for yourself or your family. But, there's nothing wrong with setting a hobby budget for the season, or the week, and what will be will be!
