ISSofBC now accepting bursary applications
ISSofBC is encouraging education for refugee youth and newcomers to Canada with nine bursaries. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, June 30. Eligible applicants committed to their academic pursuits may apply for more than one. Applications are now available online.

Networking event offers insight into tech sector
Over 150 newcomers took their first steps to rebuilding careers in Canada thanks to a full-day networking and learning event geared towards immigrant engineering and technology professionals March 23 at the Vancouver Public Library.
Ten newcomer youth from ISSofBC shared their participant-led community projects on the national stage in Winnipeg February as part of InterAction Newcomer Youth Civic Engagement program offered in Vancouver, Toronto and Winnipeg.
ISSofBC celebrates volunteer contributions
Volunteers in Richmond and Vancouver were honoured during three appreciation celebrations for dedicating over 8,500 hours of time in 2018 toward supporting immigrants and refugees as they build new lives in Canada. 
Families from ISSofBC joined the preschool team for an underwater adventure at the Vancouver Aquarium where they encountered thousands of marine animals and learned more about conservation initiatives to help protect the ocean habitat.
Staff host employment partners at new centre in Surrey
An employer appreciation night at ISSofBC Welcome Centre – Surrey celebrated employer and community partners who have shown amazing support and assistance to Career Paths and other employment programs through various activities.

BC Refugee Hub
ISSofBC in partnership with the Province of British Columbia have created the BC Refugee Hub where users can learn about refugees arriving to the province, read the latest status of the arrival of refugees and find local resettlement programs, services and resources.
