International Culinary Training Needs - Are you interested in a cooking career that specializes in a specific international / ethnic cuisine? If so, then we need your input! go2HR, BC’s tourism and hospitality HR association, is conducting a study to see if there is potential to develop training focusing on particular cuisines. This is part of a needs assessment to identify the cuisines in highest demand and the relevant training needs for these cooks and chefs. go2HR is looking for people in BC who are interested in studying different cuisines and working in restaurants that specialize in a variety of international cuisines. Grants for Education!

Educational Bursaries available! - ISSofBC is encouraging education for newcomers to Canada with nine bursaries. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, June 30. Eligible applicants committed to their academic pursuits may apply for more than one. Applications are now available ONLINE or through any ISSofBC location.

Tips for Successful Interviews Workshop (Vancouver) - This is a free workshop for permanent residents, live-in caregivers, naturalized Canadian citizens, refugees /refugee claimants and provincial nominees. The ability to handle yourself well at an interview is a skill you can learn. Join our workshop and learn tips on the following:
• Interview preparation and readiness
• Answering common interview questions
• Responding to behavioural and situational questions

• Closing the interview and creating a lasting good impression
• Professional follow-up

Youth in Tech Information Session (Surrey) - YOUTH IN TECH is a skills training and employment program customized for immigrant and refugee youth ages 18-24 interested in pursuing careers in BC’s rapidly expanding Tech sector. The program provides youth with hands-on opportunities to build digital skills, meet industry leaders, and gain meaningful work experience in Tech. Join our information session to learn more!
Location: Services are delivered at the ISSofBC Surrey Welcome Centre. However, the program is open to all newcomer youth living in Metro Vancouver.
