Workplace Expectations: Communicating Across Cultures How should you respond when your boss says “hello”? Should you go for lunch with a co-worker?Join an activities-based workshop on July 19, 10am - 2pm at our Maple Ridge office (320-22470 Dewdney Trunk Road) to:
  • Understand local workplace expectations
  • Develop skills to communicate across cultural differences
  • Feel more confident in your interactions with others
  • Make friends and have some fun!

Info Session: Free Soft Skills Program for Internationally-Trained IT Professionals - Communication skills are important to the success of IT professionals in the workplace. The ability to fit into a team, communicate your ideas, and understand workplace practices makes a difference in getting a job and advancing in your career. The Literacy and Essential Skills (LES) Program for Internationally-Trained IT Professionals is a free soft-skills training program available to both employed and unemployed IT professionals. We are recruiting participants for our September Cohort. Upcoming Info Sessions on July 10 5:30-6:30 pm, or July 14 12:30-1:30 pm, at 610-333 Terminal Ave. An online session is also available. Job Success for Immigrants ProgramAre you an immigrant looking for work? The Job Success Program in Coquitlam can help! This free employment program offers:
  • 5 weeks of employment workshops
  • Work experience and connections with employers
  • Free short-term training (eg. First Aid, Food Safe, Forklift etc.)
  • Work clothing supports
  • Bus ticket support for job search
