RC Glossary, "Blue Groove"
Refers to a hard-packed dirt track surface which has been run on so much that a thin layer of rubber is showing on top of the dirt, giving the appearance of a "blue groove." The color comes from the rubber tire deposits. Normally, blue groove sections have high traction because of the excess rubber that has been laid down.
