We begin the new year on the Podcast with 4 time Grammy-nominated producer/engineer/musician Joel Hamilton, who’s credits include the Black Keys, Iggy Pop, Elvis Costello, and Pretty Lights, among many others.
Joel's also a part owner of Studio G Brooklyn and a frequent speaker at conferences all over the world (you'll know why when you listen to the interview).
We had a good talk and a lot of laughs about his approach to working with different artists in different genres, his extensive amplifier collection (including his desert island favorite), and his favorite plugins.
This one's a whole lot of fun!
On the intro I'll take a look at some interesting Bandcamp stats that include one that's mind-blowing about cassette releases, names of bands, and titles of album releases. We'll also look at the sale of SSL and the future of large format consoles (which might surprise you).
