Dear Colleague,

Investment into building safer, scalable and more cost-effective cell therapies for broader patient populations is growing, but do we understand what the patient perspective is?
This is the question that clinical and economic experts cannot answer and one of the topics we will be tackling at the Vein-to-Vein Congress in Boston, November 20-21.

View the full agenda here.

Why is the patient perspective crucial to strengthening commercialization?

By highlighting factors that are critical to patients, organizations can contextualize evidence to understand the importance of particular outcomes or effects. Including evidence of patient engagement can influence international, regional and national health agendas and policies.

Patients offer their (often limited) time to aid in the development of therapies. To ensure successful enrollment, the process should mitigate the burden of participation and create positive experiences thus reducing impacts on time and costs when commercializing.

Andrew Spiegel, Executive Director, Global Colon Cancer Association will be joining us at the Vein-to-Vein Congress to explain the importance of including and the implications of not including advocates and patients in cell therapy access decisions.

Hilary Hutton-Squire, Vice President & General Manager of Gilead Sciences UK&I noted the significance of capturing patient voices so the most important experiences are included in appraisals. Alistair Neally, Director - Vendor Management at PSI CRO states that "The heart of patient centricity [is] a radical shift from thinking of patients as data points to understanding them individually. It's about learning to see each patient—their disease, their age, their lives, their time".

To hear about this topic and more, join us at the Vein-to-Vein Congress in Boston, November 20-21, 2019.
