Subject: the result isn't the trade

WTF?!

A horse finishes 6th.

Bad trade?

Not necessarily.

A football match finishes 0-0.

Bad trade?

Again...

Not necessarily.

Because neither of those things tells me what you actually traded.

Maybe you backed the horse at 6.0 and laid it at 4.0 before the off.

Maybe you traded a football price movement and were out long before full-time.

The result isn't the trade.

Which sounds obvious.

But it's also where a lot of backtesting goes wrong.

You look at what happened at the end... instead of what would've happened between your entry and your exit.

And that's the bit that matters to us as traders.

It's also why we've put so much work into LightSpeed Stats.

You can test the point you would've entered.

Test where you'd have got out.

Change the timing.

Change the conditions.

And see what happens across years of previous markets.

So you're not just asking:

“Did this win?”

You're asking the much more useful question:

“Would my trade have worked?”

Just pick the sport you trade.
