‘Money is your god, Ryan!”

Those were the words out of my mothers mind at me as a child.

She thought I was obsessed with money and that it was my god.

My mother was wrong.

You see my mother didn’t really understand my drive to make more money, I was a kid who would wheel and deal, I wanted more money.

Not because money was my god.

But because money allowed me to do the things I wanted to do.

I wanted to buy a new football shirt, I needed money to buy it.

As I got older I wanted other things, a macbook. I needed money to buy it.

But there was something more to it for my mother.

I grew up on a council estate.

My mother always wanted me to remember ‘Where I come from’ she didn’t want me to change…

She was scared I would change if I made money, she thought I would become a prick.

The thing is I have changed.

But the person I am, at my core hasn’t.

I’ve always just wanted to have fun, spend time with the people I care about.

The only thing is that money has allowed me to have more freedom.

Which for me has equalled more fun.

When I look back I thank Betfair Trading for everything in my life.

It’s brought me:

Freedom

Friends

I will never complete this game we call trading, I’ll never master it.

BUT that keeps it interesting, it keeps it fun for me.

One thing I have got very good at though?
