Most traders start with a strategy idea.
“Lay the draw when the home team is strong.” “Back over 1.5 goals in attacking leagues.” “Trade for a late goal when the match is still level.”
But that is not a strategy yet. It is just an idea.
A real strategy needs clear stats rules.
Which teams qualify? What results should you exclude? Which stats actually matter? And does adding another rule improve the strategy or just make the backtest look prettier?
