How to work out your entry and exit points on Betfair
If you're trying to narrow down your trades and have no clue what to do, use my checklist.Â
I am not going to give you strategies or set rules for this. I am going to help you work on your trading on Betfair.
I keep saying that 99% of traders don't do this and how do I know this? Because I have surveyed thousands of traders over the last few weeks and months and found out what they don't do. My survey has been on both winning traders and losing traders to find out what they do. So that I can give you lessons and not just from me but the community as a whole.Â
Why is it that 99% of traders don't do this because it takes more work? They don't track anything after they have gone into their trade that could help them extend that window of opportunity.
So I talk about this window of opportunity when trading. Many people ask, how do I know went to get in and went to get out?Â
Track the data!
Let's run through an example of this. Say you want to make an over 2.5 goals trade... that's your ideal! You've got your list of games and now what I want you to do is start tracking the data around those games. For example,
what was the price of the over 2.5 games at the start...at 10minutes….15minutes….20minutes….25 minutes.
What time did you go in?
Put this information on your sheet.
Also, put timings of the first goal scored and continue tracking when the second ….the third goal.
Then start tracking the prices after the goals and when there weren't any goals. So on a game where there were no goals if your strategy is for over the 2.5 goals if you got in at 0, the price was 1.9. At 10 minutes, It was 0-0. What was the lay price or exit price at that point….at 10..20...30minutes, etc. Because if you can't, you should go and get this data. It will work out your entry and exit points. I know you're thinking this is a lot of work.... but hear me out.
If you come and tell me out of your 200 games of your over 2.5 goals trading, if you have that kind of data, obviously you know what time the first goal should go in. It might be 20 minutes. If you enter, you have wasted 20 minutes of wait value. You could wait to get into that trade in 20 minutes. You could also have some data showing games that have been profitable at two or more goals.Â
So your match reading has increased, and your data will show you whether you are into a winning trade or not.
know when to get out because you can then say if a goal goes in at this period, this is the best time for me to get out.Â
Also, my data shows there is a goal at this time and another one at this particular time, So between the two timings, I should stay in longer to get another goal. Therefore instead of getting 20% profit, I will get 40% ...how great is that!Â
That is how to work out your entry and exit points. Remember, if you are stuck narrowing down your strategy and want a checklist for that, Here is a link to the checklist that will help you.
