THE FINAL CONFRONTATION
BY GREG SCHLUETER

Dear Beloved Friends in Christ,

Following last week's defeat of Issue 1, with the weight of history's challenges upon us, I come to you with a heartfelt plea that echoes the prophetic words of Pope St. John Paul II. In 1976, he spoke of an impending confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, the Gospel and the anti-Gospel. Today, this struggle unfolds before our eyes, testing the core of our Christian civilization, human dignity, and rights.

In an age where truths are blurred, and moral foundations crumble, we confront pivotal decisions that challenge our beliefs. The November agenda in Ohio, sanctioning abortion and "gender reassignment" surgeries for minors, calls us to action. Amidst these trials, I stand not just as a messenger, but a fellow traveler in this journey of faith. (listen to this week's program, "Courage in the Storm," featuring a masterful homily by Msgr. Marvin Borger)

Our mission transcends fleeting moments – it's about roots, the foundation of our faith and culture. We resonate with the Father's longing for all to discover their true identity in Him through our Catholic faith. This mission is embodied by an impactful, diocesan-sponsored endeavor we're leading in November, Sanctus: Eucharistic Family Revival. It will be preceded in September and October by impactful groups of men, women and families, Supreme Makeover: Home Edition (CatholicRevival.us).

We humbly ask for your help. Our passion for this movement has never been greater, or our need for your financial help, largely due to our substantial
commitment to pro-life and other faith initiatives over the past year. We stand alongside them in unity; our moment is about rootsOur commitment to impact generations is unwavering. And your support is vital.

As history unfolds, we deeply desire to be all the more united with you seeking unwavering faith; to be a force for the Kingdom. Your support enables us to continue our work, diving deeper, reaching further.

We entrust this on this glorious Feast of the Assumption to the powerful intercession of our Our Blessed Mother whose "YES" we have been given a place at the Eternal Banquet. May your generosity be a testament to your commitment to this cause. May God bless you abundantly for your dedication.

In Christ's love,

Greg & Stephanie Schlueter

GOSPEL | Matthew 15:21-28
At that time, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.
And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out,
"Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David!
My daughter is tormented by a demon."
But Jesus did not say a word in answer to her.
Jesus' disciples came and asked him,
"Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us."
He said in reply,
"I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
But the woman came and did Jesus homage, saying, "Lord, help me."
He said in reply,
"It is not right to take the food of the children
and throw it to the dogs."
She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps
that fall from the table of their masters."
Then Jesus said to her in reply,
"O woman, great is your faith!
Let it be done for you as you wish."
And the woman's daughter was healed from that hour.

EPISODE 386: COURAGE IN THE STORM. Unplugged Greg & Stephanie | Featuring homily by Msgr. Marvin Borger

As we squeeze out the last drops of summer, hosts Greg & Stephanie take us on a rare tour of meaningful and amusing stories that have marked recent months, while drawing attention to encircling storm clouds in the socio-political arena with the message of Catholic Revival.

On the ballot this November: Monied and motivated forces are conspiring to establish abortion and other dangerous surgeries on demand for even minors, without parental consent. The decision is in our hands. As Dietrich Bonhoeffer proclaimed, "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. God will not hold us guiltless." We need to be engaged as never before. Aware of these stormy seas, with our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, we are summoned to venture beyond our comfort zones and walk on the water. This inspiring episode is punctuated by an impactful homily by Msgr. Marvin Borger, pastor of St. Joan of Arc (Toledo, Ohio). It follows from Toledo Bishop Daniel Thomas' heroic call for pastors (and the rest of us!) to proclaim it.

In today's gospel, we encounter the story of a woman of great faith, a Canaanite who was not of Jewish descent. She approached Jesus, pleading for mercy, as her daughter was tormented by a demon. Jesus initially did not respond, as she was not part of the Jewish faith; he adhered to the Jewish customs.

Undeterred, she persisted, expressing that even the dogs, a term used by Jewish people for Gentiles, eat the crumbs from the table. Her humility and unwavering faith caught Jesus's attention. He acknowledged her great faith and granted her request, saying, "Woman, great is your faith. Let it be done for you as you wish." Instantly, her daughter was healed.

Reflecting on this, we must examine ourselves. Do we sometimes view those outside our own belief system, whether they are non-Catholic, non-Orthodox, or follow different paths, with skepticism? Jesus challenges us to embrace everyone and share the good news, even with those who might not share our perspectives. He reminds us that faith can exist beyond our particular frameworks. While someone may not align with our orthodoxy, their faith can still be recognized by Jesus, and he extends his healing presence to them.

Are you someone who finds themselves outside the boundaries of established faith? Embrace great faith. Approach Jesus with humility, acknowledging that even in your perceived position, there's room for his grace. He will come and bring healing to your life and those around you. This is my heartfelt prayer for you. Remember, today, all things are possible with God.
