Easter grace is being outpoured. Available to each of us right now is the present power of Jesus Christ to heal, transform, revive, and strengthen. This week Stephanie and I are very blessed to be with Fr. John Riccardo, the Acts XXIX team, and others striving to build the Kingdom. We are so grateful to Matt Fradd (Pints With Aquinas) for allowing us to feature the first hour of his incredible interview with Gabriel Castillo on IGNITE Radio Live (GO). Here a snapshot, our Easter Story Week 4:
Gabriel's upbringing was marked by the absence of his father in a single-parent household, where his hardworking mother did her best to provide for him. However, with her often away at work, Gabriel found himself engulfed by the influence of the media, particularly channels like MTV, which shaped his values around popularity, pleasure, and music, devoid of spiritual guidance.
Despite his mother's efforts to steer him in the right direction, Gabriel spiraled deeper into a life dictated by worldly desires and sinful habits. It wasn't until he enrolled at the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas, that his perspective began to shift. Theology and philosophy courses ignited a quest for objective truth within him, leading him to recognize the rationality of Catholicism.
But Gabriel's newfound intellectual belief clashed with his entrenched lifestyle of sin, leaving him torn between his faith and the allure of worldly pleasures. It wasn't until a transformative encounter during a Confirmation retreat, where he experienced a profound outpouring of God's love, that Gabriel's heart began to soften.
Yet, his journey to deeper faith was met with fierce spiritual resistance, culminating in a terrifying demonic attack that shook him to his core. It was through the intercession of Saint John Vianney and the powerful invocation of the Blessed Virgin Mary that Gabriel found liberation from the grip of evil.
Embracing the Rosary as a spiritual weapon, Gabriel embarked on a journey of repentance, reparation, and profound devotion to Our Lady, which ultimately transformed his life. Today, Gabriel's mission is to share the transformative power of the Rosary, guiding others from spiritual darkness to the radiant light of Christ through the loving embrace of Mary.
