Cristian Filice is from a small town in Italy. A devout husband and father, he was living a normal family life until 2011 when symptoms of multiple sclerosis appeared. The disease progressed to the point where only his eyes were moving. With weakened lungs only breathing 10 percent, he had to use a special breathing machine. With all natural solutions exhausted, on September 23, 2013, he decided to go to Medjugorje.
Without assistance, immobile pilgrims like Cristian would only go as far as the Blue Cross at the base of Mt. Podbrdo, otherwise known as Apparition Hill. On the first day of pilgrimage Cristian met with Vicka, one of the visionaries. After Vicka's testimony and prayers over him, the Cenacolo community boys were available to take him to Apparition Hill.
On September 25 Cristian and all other pilgrims were behind St. James Church praying in silence when, suddenly, Cristian felt great mercy... a need to go to Apparition Hill again: “I looked towards the place of the appearance and saw one star in the form of a comet falling towards Apparition Hill.” The next day, around 1:30pm, accompanied by his wife, two of their children and two priests, “There was a miracle and my healing." They made their way to the Blue Cross where Cristian felt great warmth and strength in his body. To the amazing wonder of everyone, he stood up from his cart:
′′With weak steps I moved towards the Hill of Apparitions and climbed Podbrdo, the place of the Lord's appearance." The whole time great tears of joy fell out of his eyes, along with all who followed him and witnessed that miracle.
After returning from the pilgrimage he went to his doctor who did not recognize him. “He asked me where I was and what medicine I used. I told him I was in Medjugorje. I told him everything that happened, but he did not believe it because he was an atheist. He told me my illness has no cure. He did all the tests again. The results were that there were no more diseases.”
Cristian visited Medjugorje again last year. He brought all documentation and history of his illness and healing. He had a meeting with Bishop Henryk Hoser and shared his testimony. The great mercy upon him and his family was multiplied: just a year after his healing they brought another son into the world. As Cristian says: “I don't stop thanking Our Lady for the mercies received, and pray for all those who carry a severe crisis of illness that God gives them strength.”
