Summer Reading begins today!

Berlin-Peck has Summer Reading programs for all ages! Summer Reading is a great way to jump-start your reading, connect with other readers... and win some fun prizes, too 🌞

Because it's so close to the start of Summer Reading, we want to warn you that the library will be closed this Wednesday, June 24, from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The closure is due to a Town of Berlin staff event. All Town buildings will be closing at 1:00 pm and may stay closed for the remainder of the day depending on the building's normal hours.

Each book you read earns you 1 virtual ticket to use in raffles or redeem for prizes. Information booklets are available at the Reference Desk. The first 50 summer readers who visit the library after signing up will receive a coupon for FREE Praline's Ice Cream!

Grades 6 to 12 • Win instantly!

Check out any library materials (books, videos, games, etc.), attend a library program, or complete challenges in the optional Summer Reading Snapshots log, and get an instant-win scratch ticket. Not an instant winner? That’s OK! Fill out your ticket and be entered into drawings for a $50 Amazon gift card or Mystery Raffle Baskets.

Pick up at the Library!

Like the Children's Department Facebook page to keep up with all the summer fun at the library.

Be one of the first 200 kids to register at the library and receive a free Summer Reading Buddy!

Preschool to Grade 2 • Read & Bead

Earn beads for every day you read (or are read to). Trade in plain beads for fancier ones. Reach a pool ring on your log and earn a special Brag Tag! Get your reading log, necklace, and first Brag Tag in the Children's Department!

Grades 3 to 5 • Read & Pin

Pick up a reading log at the library and mark off each day you read. Each time you hit a beach ball on your log, come to the library to choose a new pin!

Special Challenges • Trading Cards

Attend library programs, completing weekly challenges, read a 2027 Nutmeg Nominee, or complete the Booking Around Berlin Community Scavenger Hunt to earn special Trading Cards!
