Many librarians proudly note that today’s public libraries are so much more than just books—and that’s certainly true of ours! We offer museum passes, a puzzle exchange, items like movie projectors and board games for checkout, storytimes, lectures, book clubs, craft classes, and much more. We’ll even be offering 3D printing soon!
However, today I’d like to focus on what has always been at our core: the importance of books and reading. Has it been a while since you’ve tuned out distractions and lost yourself in a really good book? Do you sometimes feel that digital overwhelm is taking over your days? The benefits of reading are endless. Books can help people of all ages reduce stress, improve focus, spark imagination and gain glimpses into the lives and experiences of others.
Our library staff reads hundreds of books each year across a wide variety of genres and is always here to help you find the perfect book for your interests. Continuing with our annual tradition, we have compiled a list of our favorites to share with you all. We hope you enjoy the books we read and loved in 2025 and the additional book lists in this newsletter.
Sincerely,
Carrie Tyszka Library Director |
