Check out what's happening at the library!

Welcome to our May newsletter! We are thrilled to share the exciting news that our library has been honored with a Connecticut Library Association Excellence in Public Library Service Award for our One Book One Berlin initiative.

This initiative was a collaborative effort with the Berlin Public Schools, Berlin Police, and Berlin Social and Youth Services with the goal of fostering community engagement and conversation around important societal issues presented in the book, The Anxious Generation. Thank you to everyone who made the One Book One Berlin initiative a success. Your support and participation have truly made a difference in our community, and we look forward to continuing to serve you with more enriching programs and events.

Speaking of impactful programs, I would like to highlight another very special library event tomorrow night, Thursday, May 1st at 6 pm: Reflections on a Pandemic: 5 Years Later. We invite you to join us to hear from community members who will discuss how the pandemic affected our community. Listen to touching stories through the eyes of a teacher, a grocery store manager, a working parent, a 2020 BHS graduate, Berlin's Senior Center Director and emergency and health professionals. It is our hope that not only will this event serve to recognize and remember a significant historical moment but will also offer deeper understanding and appreciation of the collective efforts that helped our community endure and move forward.
