Library Director's Message

Hello,

Summer days are full of possibilities! Which is exactly what makes them so enchanting. Maybe you’ve reserved some time at home just for yourself and your family. Or perhaps your calendar is packed with vacation plans, summer gatherings, bucket list items, or you're looking for things to do. Whatever kind of summer you have planned, the library has something for you!

Want to learn a new language? Mango provides lessons in more than 60 languages. Ready to bake a cake, but need a special pan? We’ve got more than 25 specialty pans to choose from. Want to try your hand at a new hobby? Creativebug offers textile arts, flower arranging, photography, and calligraphy among many other crafts. Hosting a summer gathering, but you don’t have yard games to entertain your guests? We’ve got you covered. In addition to corn hole and other lawn games, we have a pickleball kit (rackets & balls) and a giant Jenga! Want to turn your home into a calming oasis? Well, that one’s a little harder, but you can download New Age music for relaxing and sleeping using the Hoopla App (and many other musical genres, too!) And while you’re there you can watch certain Acorn TV Series or use the Hoopla Binge Pass to access The Great Courses on your smart phone or device. All you need is a library card. Scroll down for a listing of our upcoming events – just register and make a note on your calendar. We hope to see you soon!

July also represents a fresh new fiscal year at the library and we look forward to updated technology in the form of new public computers coming this year. The price of printing color copies will drop to $.25 and we’re getting an additional printer and scanner for public use. And that’s just the beginning. We have lots in store for you in the coming year – new programs, partnerships, and possibilities. Enjoy these summer days!

Warmly,

Kim McNally
