Library Director's Message

Hello!

As you can imagine I work with a wonderful, talented staff here at Berlin-Peck Memorial Library. They brought you the wildly popular coffee kits, spice kits, and take and makes, the Lucky Day collection, Mother Goose on the Loose, brought back in-person programs, and made it a priority to get our Friday Matinees up and running again. They supported school visits to the library, implemented mobile checkout, and found new ways to reach our patrons: through homebound service, partnering with Berlin schools, and this newsletter! And that was just in the last year. I am grateful every day for their dedicated service to you.

We also have immense support from our community: The Friends of Berlin Peck Memorial Library, whose financial support allows us to put on programs and purchase museum passes. You can support their efforts by shopping through their Amazon Smile account at smile.amazon.com. The Berlin Lions Club who recently donated more than 100 diverse children’s books, and our volunteers who give hundreds of hours supporting the work we do. Our local history room is entirely run by volunteers who organize, catalog, and research Berlin History. Most recently, they have updated our database of obituaries, researched Berlin in the Revolutionary War, and organized the yearbooks, photos, and city directories to help with your genealogy research. Have a question or want to learn more? Send an email to berlinhistorian@gmail.com. And thank you to everyone who donated time, money, and other resources to make our library shine. And finally, all of you who visit our building and use our services. We are here because of you. Thank you for supporting us.

This month, we are excited to announce that our library app is available for download! You can access it through the App store or Google Play store by typing in Library Connection Mobile. Download the app to your device, select Berlin Peck Memorial Library, and view our catalog, register for events, download museum passes, and learn more about library services. We hope this makes it easier for you to use our library services no matter where you are.

Warmly,

Kim McNally

Library Director
