Pick up some "bling" for the holidays.

Can you believe that we're quickly approaching the holiday season? That must mean another Baubles & Bling Sale! This year's sale will happen on Thursday, December 5 from 5-8pm (with a $5 admission) and Saturday, December 7 from 10am-2pm (with free admission). In addition, on Saturday from 1-2pm, everything on the $1, $3, and $5 tables will be 50% off! Come do some gift shopping and support your favorite library at the same time!

Please welcome our community liaison, Tara!

Starting this week, a community liaison from Hartford HealthCare Behavioral Health, will be at the Library every Thursday from 10am to 2pm. Tara will be available to meet with walk-ins or can schedule an appointment in complete privacy. She will be able to connect patrons to mental health services, jobs and housing resources, or get them connected to legal support, subjects more outside the scope of our reference staff. Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain and the support of HHC, Tara will alternate her time between the New Britain and Plainville Libraries, us and Hartford HealthCare.

Take your crafts to the next level.

The newest entry in our Library of Things is a portable LED light box tracer. This little gadget is ideal for stenciling, 2D animation, calligraphy, embossing, scrapbooking, tattoo transferring, sketching & drawing, sewing projects, stained glass, and quilting. I just used it for addressing my daughter's wedding invitations – worked like a charm! You may borrow it for one week with one renewal.

Enjoy the coming month and hope to see you at the Library soon!
