Berlin-Peck Memorial Library • January 2019 Newsletter
Happy New Year! And do we have a lot of NEW for you!

No Fines for Seniors and Children
Let's start with a big announcement—we will no longer be charging fines on children's materials (except videogames) and for seniors age 62 and up! This new policy applies to materials borrowed after January 2.
If you have any questions, please check with the circulation staff when you visit next or call 860-828-7125.

Preserve and Share Your Old Videos
Also, thanks to your monetary donations dropped into our boxes at the circ desk and by the front doors, we have made our first purchase of equipment for a digital media center. With our new multi-function media recorder, you can save your memories for future generations and even share them on YouTube or Facebook! Whether you're pulling video from a USB drive, memory card, or even a VCR, this recorder makes it easy—all without needing a computer!

Call the reference desk at 860-828-7126 to reserve a time or with any questions.

Basketball Hall of Fame
As you may know, the Friends of the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library fund the museum and attraction passes that provide discounts and free admissions to many surrounding places. This month, we are happy to announce that we now have passes to the Basketball Hall of Fame in nearby Springfield, Massachusetts.

Users must come to the Berlin-Peck Library and pick up the pass in order to receive the specially discounted group rate of $14 for adults and $9 for children ages 5-15. Children ages 0-4 are free. The pass admits up to 6 guests and is also valid for 10% off any photo purchase at the "HOOPSHOTS" Photo Center.

Help Us Improve!
Last but certainly not least, if you could do us a favor and fill out a very short survey about our library services, it would help us plan future events and programs. After all, we're here for you!

All the best,
Helen Malinka
Library Director
