Support the library and stop by our Friends of the Library fundraiser at Good Cause Gifts on December 10th from 4 pm - 8 pm.

Our 6th Annual Gingerbread house contest begins December 11th. Details here.  Winners will be announced during the Berlin High School Madrigals performance on Wednesday, December 16th @ 6:30 pm.  We hope you can join us for a night of beautiful holiday music and an impressive gingerbread house display.
Santa Storytime: Saturday December 12th @ 1:30 pm. Join us for stories, songs, treats, a craft and a visit from Santa himself! Registration is required and begins 12/5.  Details here.

Celebration of Lights: Tuesday, December 8th @ 6:30 pm  
Join us for stories, songs, and crafts celebrating Hanukkah, Diwali, and Kwanzaa. All ages welcome, but geared toward three and up. Registration is required.
Chapter Chat Book Club: Thursday, December 10 @ 6:30 pm 
A new book club for elementary school readers. You read the book at home and then join us for a lively discussion and craft based on the book. There are no wrong answers in Chapter Chat, just fun! December's title is The Mystery of the Gold Coin. Copies are available at the Children’s Reference desk. Registration Required.
Early Dismissal Movie: Wednesday, December 16 @ 2 pm.  Drop-in for a showing of the movie, Inside Out, rated PG.
Bibliobop: Thursday, December 17 @ 10:30 am
Are you ready to shake your sillies out? Join us for a story followed by some energetic dancing, singing and playing! For all ages (geared to toddlers and preschoolers). 
Lego Zone (gr K+) Saturday, December 19 @ 1 pm
What will you build? Bricks provided. For children in grades K and up; younger children permitted with adult supervision.

Noon Year's Eve: Wednesday, December 30 @ 11 am
Join us for this rockin' child-friendly version of New Year's Eve as we count down to noon! We'll make crafts, jump on bubble wrap, eat snacks and have a special countdown. All ages. Registration required.
Teen Events
Hour of Code: Wednesday, December 9th @ 6:30 pm
Using LightBot on library iPads, students will learn one of the core fundamentals of programming: logic. Students must guide a robot through a computerized obstacle course one step at a time. For ages 12 and up. Call to register at (860) 828-7127 or register online.

Zen and the Art of Coloring (Adult Coloring). Now offering day and evening sessions: Wednesday, December 9 @ 1:30 pm and Monday, December 14 @ 6:30 pm  
Coloring is a relaxing activity, even for adults.  We'll supply the intricate coloring pages and colored pencils.  Refreshments provided. Registration.
Sit & Knit: Thursdays, December 3 & 17 @ 6 PM & December 10 @ 1 pm
Join local knitters for a relaxing time filled with knitting and good company.
Writing Group: Saturday, December 5 @ 1 pm
Do you like to write? Are you interested in getting together with fellow writers to get feedback? Come to the second meeting of the Berlin-Peck Writers' Group.  Registration.

Senior Center Book Club: Wednesday, December 9 @ 1:30 pm
Join us at the Berlin Senior Center for a discussion of Quiet Little Woman by Louisa May Alcott. Registration.

We have begun taking seed donations for our Seed Library opening in January. Seeds can be dropped off any time the library is open. We are excited to offer this new service to the community.
