During the KeFERT Technical Roundtable in October 2018, a key priority identified by the stakeholders was Soil Fertility and Acidity Mapping. Mapping is important because it identifies likely regions of individual nutrient deficiencies and soil pH constraints–as well as regions of likely nutrient sufficiency. Mapping in Kenya is crucial to: Inform policymakers of the need for multi-nutrient fertilizers. Advise the lime industry as to where to target their products. Apprise fertilizer manufacturers and blenders where to develop and target their products.
