Today The Guardian published an op-ed on pro-agriculture policies co-written by Dr. Agnes Kalibata, president of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa, and Dr. Amit Roy, president and CEO of the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC). The article, “The Fertile Roots of Rwanda's Green Revolution,” highlights the interventions behind Rwanda’s recent agricultural transformation and encourages collaboration to power a green revolution across Africa. “Fertilizer initiatives that open markets, strengthen nutrition and spur partnerships will empower farmers toward improved livelihoods,” write Kalibata and Roy.

Kalibata served as Rwanda’s Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources from 2008 to 2014. Roy has been president and CEO of IFDC since 1992.
