IFDC Project-Level Training
“It is not enough to have innovation,” says Dr. Amit Roy,
IFDC president and CEO. “We need to get innovation and technologies to those
who need them.”
IFDC conducts project-level training in all three of its
geographic divisions. The reach of these programs has grown dramatically in the past five
years, from 546,536 participants in 2010 to 956,181 in 2014. IFDC’s “cascade”
approach to training, by which participants pass on their new knowledge to
others in their community, ensures sustainability.
In Bangladesh, for example, 10,000 women are learning to use urea
deep placement. They will train their friends and family, and by end of
project, 40,000 women will use the technology in their home gardens.
