Join us* on November 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM EAT (11:00 AM UTC) as the Kenya Fertilizer Platform (KeFERT) hosts an online webinar to raise awareness of the mapping portal for use in research and learning in Kenya and globally. The event will demonstrate and discuss potential applications for policy- and decision-making for the lime and fertilizer industries in Kenya, gather feedback from the audience on the mapping portal, encourage use of the portal, and spur investments in soil mapping.

The webinar will cover a total of 21 counties with high productivity potential. The maps will be exhibited on an improved portal with faster processing speed and better visualization tools. The webinar will include a global audience involved in various agricultural research and development areas, thus attracting greater perspective and insight for application and impact. Improved and complete nutrient status and soil acidity maps will be explained and demonstrated on an interactive, web-based, publicly accessible portal.

Speakers for this event include Prof. Hamadi Boga, Principal Secretary, State Department for Crop Development and Agricultural Research; Dr. John Wendt, Deputy Director Field Research, IFDC; Mr. Jeremy Cordingley, Managing Director, Cropnuts; and Dr. David Kamau, Head Environment and Natural Resources Management, KALRO.
