Africa Day: A Vibrant Celebration of Peace, Promise, and Potential

Since its inception in 1962, Africa Day has served as an opportunity to celebrate unity, diversity, and progress on the African continent.

On May 25, IFDC and our colleagues, partners, and friends from around the world joined together to celebrate Africa Day 2023 by showcasing the continent's rich heritage, dynamic cultures, and transformative progress while also sharing sustainable opportunities for continued growth and resilience.

In line with our celebration, President and CEO Henk van Duijn continued his travels to IFDC's offices in Africa. Most recently, van Duijn met with staff, donors, and potential partners in Nigeria. This is the seventh country he has visited, following Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Ghana.
