Waiting. It is a word that is much easier to say than it is to do. In a culture driven by high-speed internet, fast food drive-thrus, and next-day shipping, we expect everything now. However, in our walk with the Lord, He sometimes calls us to simply wait. Although waiting is counter to our fleshly tendencies that demand immediate gratification, waiting on God and His timing produces spiritual fruitfulness that is much more lasting, satisfying, and glorifying to our Heavenly Father.
Our Message of the Month is titled “Waiting on God.” Evangelist Caleb Reed gives us a timely reminder of this necessary discipline. Through vivid illustrations, such as Joseph’s years in prison, the slow curing of concrete, as well as milk churning into buttermilk, Caleb shows how unseen transformation often only happens with time.
He shares about his own season of waiting due to closed doors and delayed direction, and he testifies how waiting on God, although agonizing, can become a time of intimacy, trust, and transformation. In such a place, the believer can learn that God Himself is the greatest Gift of the waiting time!
