Our October Message of the Month is historian and writer John Huffman’s dramatic presentation of E.M. Bounds.

E.M. Bounds was known as a man of prayer. However, he did not always pursue prayer and the things of the Lord. As a teenager, he experienced the excitement of the gold rush and wanted the experience of finding wealth. But after he attended a revival meeting, his life changed forever. Bounds came to understand that God’s Word is far more precious than gold and worthy of pursuing above all else.

A ministry shaped in the prayer closet

Bounds ministry was ultimately shaped in the prayer closet, where Bounds sought God’s presence and power. God blesses the prayer closet and works through those who faithfully seek Him in prayer.

May each of us set aside time to seek God each day, quiet our hearts before Him, and listen to His still, small voice in our prayer closet.
