MESSAGE OF THE MONTH

Mornings with God

Johnny Pope

Did you know that God’s Word places great importance on giving your mornings to the Lord?

Many of us know Lamentations 3:22–23: “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

God initiates the relationship He desires to have with us; in fact, we love because He first loved us! And in His lovingkindness, He gives us mercies that are new every morning. God is always there, waiting for us to meet with Him each morning before we launch into our hectic, busy day.

In this message, “Mornings with God,” Pastor Johnny Pope gives us practical advice on how to develop a greater desire and a God-inspired drive to give Him our mornings. We trust this teaching from God’s Word will be a blessing as you continue to seek His face!

COMMAND OF CHRIST

Take No Thought

“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? . . . Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

MATTHEW 6:25–26, 34

What does it mean to “take no thought”? Jesus commands us in Matthew 6 to trust God fully and release our anxiety. By focusing on God’s Kingdom and eternal priorities, we can live free from worry. The care God gives to birds and flowers assures us of His provision.

Jesus’ command to “take no thought” invites us to trust God and let go of anxiety. Through prayer, Scripture, and gratitude, we shift our focus from worry to His Kingdom. God’s faithful provision assures us that His peace is enough for every need. Join Nate and Gabe as they take a look at the Command of Christ to “Take No Thought.”
