Assalamu Alaikum & Jumu'ah Mubarak, Friend!

Dear IANT Community,

We are pleased to share with you important proposed amendments to our IANT's bylaws. To ensure transparency and your participation, we are attaching the summary of changes draft of the new bylaws. Please carefully review these materials as your feedback and involvement are vital.

Summary of Proposed Bylaws Amendments below.

  1. Operations Council Eliminated: The previous Operations Council is dissolved, consolidating all operational and executive responsibilities into the unified BOD.

  2. Board Reduction and Direct President Election: The Board of Directors (BOD) is consolidated from 19–25 members to a unified 9-member board, with the President now elected directly by members.

  3. Dual-Ballot Election System: Members will vote separately for President and for remaining BOD seats, ensuring distinct individuals fill each position.

  4. Officer Selection by Entire Board: The nine BOD members (including President) will elect the Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer among themselves within two weeks of elections.

  5. Shorter Terms and More Frequent Elections: Board member terms are shortened from three to two years, providing members more frequent opportunities to shape leadership.

  6. Stricter Eligibility — Employees of IANT and those holding paid or executive roles in other Islamic organizations cannot serve on the BOD.

  7. Stronger Affiliate Oversight and Member Approval: Affiliate (e.g., IQA, SIS, IMED, IYC) bylaws now require annual BOD review and a 2/3 general membership vote to approve any changes.
